Artquest and Careers and Employability
Venice Biennale 2017
CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS
Artquest are looking for UAL students from Fine Art courses to participate in a project at the Venice Biennale 2017. This is an incredible opportunity for students to:
- gain an insight into the international art world,
- get hands-on experience of developing and delivering a visual arts related public events programme and,
- develop working relationships with international curators and artists
Four UAL students will be selected to work with an independent curator to plan and deliver a public programme that explore ideas around the theme of the 2017 Venice Biennale “Viva Arte Viva”. This theme considers art as a fundamental and vital element to life and society, particularly in the current context of global instability.
Participating students will be mentored by an independent curator in London to plan the event programme. Students will then travel to Venice to run the programme of events during the Biennale’s opening days (10th – 12th May).
All flights, accommodation and meals will be covered.
Eligibility This scheme is part of a Careers and Employability programme which aims to promote equality on grounds of ethnicity, disability and social class, funded through Widening Participation.
To be eligible to apply you must be studying on an undergraduate Fine Art course at UAL and come from a family where neither parent has been to University.
