The BLACK House Peckham: OffIcial Program

ABOUT THE BLACK HOUSE:

A communal meeting place for Black people to nurture the Black creative spirit, to facilitate connections and to realise the potentiality of a Black collective consciousness

A shared learning ground and creative exploration lab to deconstruct, critique, celebrate and reimagine ‘blackness’.

Black healing and liberation is impossible without community cohesion, without meaningful sustainable Black relationships, without Black creativity, without Black joy and carefreeness, without Black knowledge of self and place.

The Black House is about acknowledging and dancing with uncertainty. It is about inside out thinking; questioning the perception of ‘knowing’, unearthing hidden histories, giving voice to and interpreting our contemporary experiences, writing possible futures-now.
