I am a long-time education worker, arts enthusiast and Londoner. I have joined Teaching Within as an educator and activist, to be visible to students and encourage students to make themselves visible on their own terms. I am interested in the importance of exploring varying experiences within our curricula, sparked by my own exploration into sub-altern studies of history. Our individual and shared histories and contexts shape our perspectives and, in turn, shape our artistic practices. My own arts practice includes photography and textiles. Though my formal studies were in history and politics, the arts, humanities and social sciences are closely connected and it is in the overlap between them that I reside.
