Jhinuk Sarkar – Teaching Within 2016

I work at UAL in the Disability Service as an Administrator. Aside from my UAL role I am a freelance Illustrator, Artist and workshop facilitator. I have delivered workshops at Hackney Museum, Royal Academy of Arts, and in many settings on behalf of House of Illustration as one of their Education Illustrators. Prior to my current roles I worked at Shape, a disability arts charity organisation. In this role I coordinated a programme of arts commissions and research & development projects for the 2012 Cultural Olympiad, all led by disabled artists. I gained international experience at Shape by managing commissions with international partners including the British Council. I represented Shape on a trip to Brazil where I spoke about the history of the organisation in a conference at the Museo des Artes Moderna, São Paulo. Previously I was an Exhibitions Coordinator for a local authority museum where I delivered a temporary exhibitions programme for over two years. During a period of travelling abroad, I delivered 3 creative projects in Bolivia and Peru and was an Artist in Residence for Artsource in Fremantle, Western Australia. My first job after graduating from CSM was as an Illustration Agent for a commercial agency.
