Is Black Representation on TV Growing?

Growing up, black led shows only really offered about three different representations of black people, you had the stereotypical successful black family in a white neighbourhood, the funny, young hip group of friends and then the stereotypical drug pushers and gangs. Now, however, it seems we’re finally starting to see growth and variety in our representation. Although, there definitely still aren’t enough black led shows on TV it’’s nice to see that some shows are depicting black people in a different light. These shows  are gaining traction and popularity, which could result in the growth in number in general. I’ve compiled a small list of shows to check out, all of different genres and types .
