First Mentoring Programme to promote equality celebrates success

A pilot mentoring scheme aimed at tackling the under-representation of black, Asian and minority ethnic staff in senior roles at UAL has shown promising early results, say participants.

Celebrating the closure of the programme, which launched in May 2012, the 10 mentees and 15 mentors agreed that mentoring had a significant role to play in boosting confidence, providing an avenue for ‘unedited’ discussion and making routes to progression and promotion clearer and more attainable.
