Feminine Whispers

This series of paintings are about conversations that happen in whispers, at night, in the dark, when no one is listening, conversations between girls, women and those assigned to be feminine at birth. The subject of the paintings and the imagery were mainly influenced by conversations I had with girlfriends and female family members, about our bodies, how they function, if they are functioning correctly? And our sexuality was accurate and if we shared the similar domestic violence experiences.

I wanted to shine a light on these conversation, and give them a louder voice more than just whispers. Because our brown bodies, our female bodies, our femme bodies, are not to be cast away like they always have just like our voices.
