Diffrnt presents a Night of Poetry & Brown Sugar

11 February 2017 7pm – 10pm

13-27 Station Rd,

Wood Green,

N22 6UW

In preparation for Valentine’s Day join us for a night of poetry and a screening of the classic film Brown Sugar. Featuring Sanaa Lathan and Taye Diggs Brown Sugar is a story of two childhood friends and the instrumental role Hip Hop has played throughout their journey.

As the film centers on rhyme and reason, it’s only right to include some of the best poets London has to offer, including Banana Sharma, Farah Gabdon, Kiraya Kawesa, Kush Wilson and Shadé Joseph. Themes on the night include love, relationships, connections and hip hop so expect to hear content on all of the above and more.

Artist & illustrator Hamed Hazel will be exhibiting his work in the space. You may have seen his “Don’t Let My Music Die” piece featuring Tupac & Kendrick Lamar which has been promoted by Complex magazine, Top Dawg Entertainment & more.

The event is being held at London’s first arts hotel Green Rooms. So whether you’re single or taken we would love to see your face!
