Buy less, F*** more is a movement based piece that uses food and colour as metaphors of oppression. As described by Oshununwi, a critic from Australia, my work comments on “black cultural life”, and as Toni Morisson asserts, I am also interesting in shifting the “white gaze” to a “black gaze.” Buy less, f*** more is a commentary on society, it is a duet that uses the whole body as a weapon, through dressing up and undressing, through moving and standing still. As well my own peice, there will also be a piece by fellow classmate titled Plastic life, which is about the search for beauty and perfection.
